We sell two things.
Neither of them is your website.

Your website, your reply cards, your guest list and an SVG file for every piece of your stationery are free, permanently. Not free for a trial. Not free until you want to send it. (The one exception is a name our typefaces cannot set yet — Vietnamese tone marks, for now: you see the piece, and the file waits until we can print it properly rather than with boxes in your name.)

We make money at most twice. Once if you decide you want the invitations on real paper. Once if you decide you want a shorter web address than the one we gave you. Both are optional, both happen once, and a couple who wants neither owes us nothing — that is a fine outcome and it is most couples.

That is the entire list, and we have written it into our own rules as a closed one. Which is the only way a promise like this survives the first time we need money.

What the two things cost, before you start

PaperEach
Save the date$1.40
Invitation$2.10
Invitation, reply card and envelopes$3.80
Menus, place cards, table numbers$0.80
A single proof, posted to youfree

Drafted from our print costing, not yet final. Whatever these become, they are on this page before you type anything, and they never change after you have started.

Ordering paper opens soon. The prices are here first so you see them before you start, not after.

A web address, for a year

Where it goesAmount
What the registry charges for a .com$10.46
Ours$10.54
You pay, once$21.00

Half of that is ours, and it is doing the same job the paper does: paying for everything on this page that costs you nothing. We would rather show you the two halves than round them into one number. Other endings cost more — a .wedding is $51.00 — and the price of the exact name you pick is on the screen before you agree to anything.

It lasts one year, it does not renew, and when it ends your page carries on at the address it started with. You cannot yet point an address you already own at your page; for now, this is the only way.

Five things we will not do

No advertising

Not on your page, not on the reply card, not in an email to your guests. Your aunt will not be sold a marquee because she told you she is coming.

No monthly fee

A wedding is one day. Charging you every month until it arrives punishes whoever plans furthest ahead.

No fee to send

You will never design something here and then be asked to pay to let anyone see it.

We never touch gift money

Your registry links point at your registry. Nothing passes through us and we take no cut.

Nothing renews itself

The one thing here that lasts a year — a web address — stops when the year does. We never hold your card, so we could not charge you a second time even if we forgot our own rule.

Your address is printed on paper.
So we owe you this.

Wedding sites have closed before with a fortnight's warning, after couples had already posted the address to two hundred people. Here is what we commit to instead:

  • Your page stays up through your wedding day and a year after it, once you have kept it or shared it, whatever happens to us. (A page nobody kept, wrote in or shared is tidied away after two weeks — it was two names and a date, and typing them again takes ten seconds.) It is a file on a disk, not a running business, and keeping it costs us almost nothing.
  • Everything is exportable, always. Guest list as a spreadsheet, every piece of stationery as an SVG you can open and keep, or as a press-ready PDF with bleed and crop marks — free, whether or not you ever order it printed. No account needed, no email to us, one button.
  • If we ever close, you get six months' notice and your files. Written down here so you can hold us to it.

What we know about your guests

Very little, on purpose. Your guest list can never be read from your public page — it is not stored anywhere a web address can reach.
