A vow renewal is usually hosted by the couple, sometimes by their children, and the card says what it is in the first lines: you are married already, and you are saying it again. Name the years if you like. Skip the registry.
The honour of your presence is requested at the renewal of the marriage vows of Priya & Etienne Saturday, the twelfth of June at four o’clock
The formal request, in the passive voice that leaves the hosts unnamed, then the occasion spelled out before the names.
Warm
Priya & Etienne are saying “I do” again and would love you to be there Saturday 12 June 2027 at 4pm
The occasion in their own words, then the invitation. Light enough for a garden, warm enough for grandparents.
Modern
Priya & Etienne Ten years married. We’re saying it again. Saturday 12 June 2027 at 4pm
The number does the explaining. Change it to yours.
What people ask
Who hosts a vow renewal?
Usually the couple. Grown children often host a milestone one (a twenty-fifth or a fortieth), and then their names go on the host line: “Together with their children”.
Should we expect gifts?
No, and you can say so on the website. Guests gave once. Many couples ask for nothing, or name a charity.
Can I wear my wedding dress again?
Yes, or anything else. Put the dress code on the website so guests match the feel you want.
